Russia’s Toy Exhibitions: Mir Detstva and Kids Russia
The Mir Detstva exhibition (“World of Childhood”) is one of the largest child and youth product exhibitions in Russia, held annually. For example, the 2025 edition took place in Moscow from September 17 to 19.
The Kids Russia exhibition is held every spring. Its 2025 edition took place in Moscow at the Crocus Expo from March 18 to 20.
Participants and Countries
At Mir Detstva, over 500 companies participate, with a significant share from Russian domestic manufacturers. Foreign countries such as China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Thailand, Turkey, and Uzbekistan are also represented.
At Kids Russia, more than 250 manufacturers and exhibitors from around 13 countries participate. The exhibition combines Russian and international companies showcasing children’s products, toys, entertainment, mother and baby products, children’s furniture, outdoor products, and sports toys.
Importance of the Exhibitions
- Large domestic and regional market: Russia and CIS countries provide a significant market for children’s goods and toys, offering manufacturers opportunities to introduce products and expand exports.
- Networking and business interaction: Manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and specialty stores come together to sign contracts, establish new collaborations, and expand sales channels.
- Innovation and quality presentation: Producers showcase new products, educational and entertainment designs, and high-standard toys, helping to raise the overall market quality.
- Education and awareness: Side events include discussions and expert talks about design, safety, child development, and social-psychological effects of play.
Economic and Cultural Impact
The toy market is important not only economically (employment, production, exports) but also culturally, as toys are part of child development, imagination, cognitive skills, creativity, and learning.
Impact of Toys
Toys are vital tools for children’s cognitive, emotional, motor, and social development. Through play, children learn, gain experience, solve problems, and practice social interactions.
Quality, variety, cultural compatibility, and safety in toy design directly affect children’s mental and physical health. Toys can also help preserve culture and language; those compatible with local culture contribute to transmitting cultural identity to children.
iToy and Iranian Toy Manufacturers
The iToy brand and Iranian toy manufacturers participated in the 2022 exhibitions, showcasing the capabilities of Iranian producers to the world and creating a platform for international cooperation.
